Tsui Wah Ferry Aberdeen to Lamma Island (Yung Shue Wan) Route is an Outlying ferry route operated by Tsui Wah Ferry Service. It runs between Aberdeen Promenade and Yung Shue Wan Ferry Pier, via Pak Kok Pier.
History[]
- 15 August 1998: HKKF launched the route.[1]
- 15 August 2008 : Taken over by Tsui Wah Ferry Service.[2][3]
- 1 July 2011: Joint ticketing was introduced with the HKKF Central - Lamma Island (Yung Shue Wan) Route.
- 27 September 2015: Fares were increased.[4]
- 7 October 2018: Service hours were changed; holiday fares were adjusted and resident discounts for Lamma Island were introduced.[5]
- 15 August 2021: The eligible age for half-fare concession for children was changed to 3–12; free rides became limited to under 3 years old.[6]

Fleets[]
According to a 2019 Legislative Council document, this route operates with two ordinary ferries[7], including a steel ferry named Tsui Wah 8 (built in 1990 by Xiangzhou Fishing Vessel Factory, Zhuhai, Guangdong Province; Certificate of Ownership number: A5593). The vessel has a capacity of 186 passengers, and both the upper and lower forward cabins are equipped with air-conditioning systems.
Patronage[]
- 2009: Average daily ridership was 749.[8]
- 2015: The route recorded an average daily ridership of 845 passengers and operated at a loss.[9]
- 2020: Average daily ridership was 769.[10]
- 2021: Average daily ridership was 844.[10]
- 2022: Average daily ridership was 816.[10]
- 2023: An average of about 21 passengers per day made use of the interchange discount with the HKKF Central - Lamma Island (Yung Shue Wan) Route.[11]
Future developments[]
In the 2019 Policy Address, the Government announced the extension of the Special Helping Measures for Outlying Island ferry routes to include this service, with the plan to replace the two existing ordinary ferries with two high-speed vessels.[12]
